SRF successfully enters BOPP film business in South Africa

For their BOPP film market entry, SRF teamed up with Brückner and has now successfully started their first production line at their subsidiary SRF Flexipack, in Durban, South Africa.
The multi-business corporate group SRF with headquarters in Gurgaon, India, has over the years expanded its footprints beyond the national boundaries. Today it is a global entity with operations in four countries; eight manufacturing plant locations in India, one in UAE, two each in Thailand and South Africa. Within the packaging films industry SRF has become the second largest thin PET film manufacturer in India.
For their BOPP film market entry, SRF teamed up with Brückner and has now successfully started their first production line at their subsidiary SRF Flexipack, in Durban, South Africa. From the very first mill roll the 8.7 m wide line has been producing a wide variety of 5-layer films of highest quality – such as plain and co-extruded films between 15 and 40µm – to cover the local demand. In addition SRF will also focus on exporting a certain quantity of all kinds of BOPP films.
Together with the vast process know-how of both SRF and Brückner, the state-of-the-art equipment, including features such as a new system for direct fluff recycling and the well proven TDO heat recovery technology, both for considerable energy savings, will furthermore ensure that SRF is going to be a serious player in the BOPP industry and especially within the BOPP specialty film sector.
