First BOPA line for Latin America is the world's largest

Sigdopack will conquer new markets with 5 m Brückner line

One of Latin America's leading film producers, Chilean Sigdopack, has decided to develop upcoming BOPA film markets using Brückner equipment. They not only purchased the first BOPA line for Latin America, but it is also the first 5m BOPA line worldwide, with a name plate capacity of 6,000 tons per year. Sigdopack` s main reason for investing is the ever-increasing demand for BOPA film to package sensitive food. This growth is based on: Increasing Latin American food exports: meat, fish, seafood Trend towards small portions for supermarkets Trend towards convenience products: ready-to serve-meals, retortable pouches Sigdopack´s return to Brückner The BOPA project is Sigdopack`s return to Brückner. The company has been producing high grade BOPP film with a Brückner line since 1997, but in-between decided to switch to another supplier for a second BOPP line. They have now returned to Brückner to profit from Brückner`s technological competence and the company`s proven reliability throughout all project phases. Sigdopack is a company belonging to the Chilean Holding Group Sigdo Koppers, having the latest technological advances for the production of BOPP films. The production capacity consists of 30,000 tons per year, more than 80% of the production is exported to markets in Latin America, North America and Europe.
