Brückner, the German world market leader for film stretching lines and IUPP Multipack, Belarus, are cooperating to realize the first project to produce oriented polystyrene film in the CIS states.
The contract - insured by Hermes Kreditversicherungs AG (Germany) - has already become effective based on a cash down payment made by IUPP Multipack.
The 4.2m line in 3-layer configuration will be able to produce up to 20,000 tons of bi-axially or mono-axially oriented high-quality PS film annually. Thicknesses range from 25 to 800 µm. Some of the possible applications for these films are:
Thermoforming products such as food containers
Twist-wrap packaging film
Window envelopes
Labels
Shrink film ( sleeves )
The line's output will enable IUPP Multipack to satisfy increasing market demand within the CIS states for several years to come. Start of production at the new industrial plant, which is being built according to Western-European standards (and which is nearly half-finished), is scheduled for the middle of 2005.
