Largest CPP line in the Americas on stream – confirming OPP Film’s leading position

OPP Film successfully starts their new 6.2 m wide line.

OPP Film S.A., part of the Oben Holding Group, is the leading manufacturer of CPP films in Latin America. The company has now further strengthened its position with the successful start of their brand-new 6.2 m wide Brückner CPP film production line in Lima, Peru.   OPP decided to install a wider line since in their experience CPP follows similar market rules to BOPP. CPP film produced with a wider line and high output results in lower production costs, since it requires lower energy consumption, fewer staff, creates less waste and has a higher yield compared to smaller lines.   The line is only the second one of this size worldwide (of course the first one is also a Brückner), setting the benchmark in today’s CPP technology with an hourly extrusion output of 2,750 kg and speeds of up to 400 m/min. The numerous technical highlights include the twin screw as main extrusion, a feature which is unique throughout the entire branch. The benefits for CPP film production are obvious and include maximum flexibility through faster product changes and low energy consumption due to the efficient melting process.   OPP Film has been successfully producing on a 4.8 m Brückner CPP line since 2009. Their film enjoys an excellent reputation in the market, as does the company’s production flexibility.
