One of these pioneers is Suzhou Kunlene Film Industries, a valued Brückner customer. As the first manufacturer of flexible packaging films in China, Kunlene has been recognized as a Global Lighthouse. A key foundation for this achievement is a state‑of‑the‑art Brückner film stretching line, which Kunlene uses as a platform for comprehensive digitalization and AI. More than 30 digital and AI use cases – ranging from AI‑based process control to data‑driven R&D – have delivered impressive results, including an 83% reduction in minimum lot size, a 45% reduction in development lead time, and a 31% reduction in scrap.

Brückner: AI That Works in Production
AI is also firmly embedded in the ongoing development of Brückner’s own solutions. Currently, two customer‑focused projects are at the forefront: an AI‑based prediction of film properties, enabling production engineers to simulate optimal machine settings in advance, and an AI‑supported process chatbot that provides direct access to decades of expert knowledge.
