The demand for technical films has grown tremendously in recent years – today, these applications account for around half of our revenue. In the battery sector, we work closely with our customers on innovative separator films that are becoming thinner and more mechanically robust. We achieve thicknesses down to 5 micrometers, made possible by a precisely controlled biaxial stretching process where temperature profile, stretching ratio, and speed must interact perfectly. Our latest lines set new standards: stretching widths up to 8.7 meters and tight thickness tolerances – unique worldwide.
