Complete special BOPET line sold to Shinkong Synthetic Fibers Corporation


Shinkong Synthetic Fibers Corporation, a part of Shinkong Group, was founded in 1969. It is Taiwans biggest polyester manufacturer, heavily engaged in the textile applications and bottle resin business.


The company currently has two production plants, one at Chungli and one at Taoyuan. The Chungli plant mainly produces polyester filament and polyester polymer chips whilst the Taoyuan plant produces about 70.000 tons of PET bottle resin and has a capacity of 10,000 tons of polyester film per annum, which will soon be doubled.


With a future focus on added value products, PET film is becoming an increasingly important product at Shinkong Synthetic Fibers Corporation. From there it was just a small step to establish their own film production to increase profits.


They will produce special BOPET medium and thick films, which are used in various fields of the electronic industry (i.e. LCD panel films, touch panels, printed circuit boards, insulation films etc.) as well as in food packaging (PVC is replaced by BOPET due to environmental reasons).


Main products of Shinkong's new BOPET Line are:


High transparency films

Special low shrink films in MD and TD direction


Line layout:


Thickness range: 25 - 200 µm

Film width: 5.8 m net on winder

Output: up to 3,400 kg/h

Mechanical speed: up to 250 m/min 


Features of line components:


Extrusion system: Main cascade extruder with special melt filtration, coex single screw with melt pump, advanced die unit incl. quick-die change system. 

Casting Unit: Direct AC drives for chill roll and take-off roller - no gears, no belts, excellent temperature uniformity chill roll design, air-shower for outside film cooling, cast sheet thickness gauge based on infra-red measurement.

MDO: Special low shrink single-gap stretching roller configuration, multi-motor AC drive system.

TDO: New oven design with individually adjustable air streams for top and bottom side of film, special low shrink design, high-efficient external airing system including heat recovery system for energy saving.
Patented heavy duty roller bearing system with continuous roller bearing contact design (CBC), oven outside return track, magnetic clip opener/closing system, automatic track width adjustment.

Pull Roll: Special low shrink roller configuration, infra-red thickness gauge with patented thickness control system, preparation for web cleaning and inspection devices, direct AC drives for all rolls including active film tension control.

Winder: Special roll configuration for film tension control, oscillating winder frame, direct AC drives for all rolls including winding cores, mill roll loading/unloading trolley.

Electrical System: Advanced vector controlled AC drives, high-end automation system including field- and supervisory control.
