A benchmark for Africa`s plastics film industry

Egyptian film producer Icopack and Brückner teamed up again for another groundbreaking project: The new 6.6m wide high performance five-layer BOPP film production line will be a beacon for Africa.

Equipped with twin screw extrusion, direct drives and several energy saving features, the line represents the latest in top technology for a flexible and sustainable manufacture of value added film. Beside the engineering Brückner also provided sound consulting services to help Icopack to further improve their production planning.

Icopack, together with Egywrap and Copack, is a member of a group of renowned film production companies. All companies produce a full range of BOPP films including transparent, milky white, pearlized, metalized, adhesive tape base films, tobacco over wrapping films, and several special films of different thicknesses.

This is already the third joint project of the Egyptian group of companies and Brückner, and we are very contented and proud of our long-lasting common history.

Dr. Mohamed Fouad El-Sarraf, the chairman of the group of companies, says: “Our group's first line was a Brückner line and was the first BOPP production facility in the Middle East. It was meant mainly for the local market. Our second Brückner line was triple the capacity and now exports to some 15 countries in Africa, the Middle East and Europe, thanks to our consistently high film quality and efficient marketing and after-sales services. We are looking forward to start our even more modern third Brückner line to meet the growing demand from our local and international clients and to expand our specialty products range.”
