PCR-Based Film Suitable for Food Packaging and Labels
BOPP film (biaxially oriented polypropylene film) is used in numerous applications, particularly in the packaging of food products such as snacks, sweets, or baked goods. It is also frequently used for labels and adhesive tapes. BOPP film popularity is mainly due to its high transparency and resistance to moisture and chemicals.
PureCycle Technologies, Inc. successfully completed large-scale testing of its innovative PureFive™ granulate in BOPP film. The latest trials took place in August in collaboration with Brückner Maschinenbau in their worldwide unique Technology Center in Siegsdorf, Germany.
But how exactly was Brückner able to help PureCycle achieve its goals? Learn more about the collaboration between the two companies and their joint journey in the PureCycle customer story.
PureCycle Technologies LLC., a subsidiary of PureCycle Technologies, Inc., holds a global license for the only patented dissolution recycling technology, developed by The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G), that is designed to transform polypropylene plastic waste (designated as #5 plastic) into a continuously renewable resource. The unique purification process removes color, odor, and other impurities from #5 plastic waste resulting in our PureFive™ resin that can be recycled and reused multiple times, changing our relationship with plastic.
