Mono-material and everything will be fine?
Mono-material flexible films based on polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), or polyethylene terephthalate (PET) are being promoted as a sustainable solution for the packaging of tomorrow. They fulfill many requirements in terms of a responsible use of resources, the circular economy or legal regulations. In the US magazine “Plastics Today” Stephen Moore points out, how the entire plastics and packaging value chain teams up to fine-tune performance and productivity in easy-to-recycle flexible packaging structures.
“Converting Quarterly”, the official publication of the Association for Roll-to-Roll Converters (ARC), features technical articles and reports on emerging technologies relevant to the converting industry. In July 2025 the magazine gave a brief insight into UK-based AMI’s report on the global PE consumer packaging films market.

Even though it was some time ago, the “Circular-Carbon Future·2023 Packaging Innovation Workshop” addressed many issues that are still relevant today. Among other things, how important the collaboration among related industry players is to promote the development of mono-material packaging and tap the potential of the circular economy.
